CASTAIC JUNCTION, Los Angeles County — Los Angeles County Parks publishes a detailed schedule of entrance and boat-launch fees for Castaic Lake State Recreation Area, helping families and boaters plan visits before driving to the reservoir.
The county fee list shows a $15 daily entrance charge for ordinary vehicles, $8 for qualifying senior and disabled vehicle entry, $23 for recreational vehicles and $38 for buses. Motorized boat launching is listed at $13 per day and nonmotorized launches at $9 per day, while annual permits have separate prices. A day-use pass does not automatically cover a launch, and some categories require documentation.
Fee tables should be read alongside current restrictions. The county website says the campgrounds remain closed after the Hughes Fire and warns boaters about invasive mussels and exit inspections. Facility operation also varies by season and by weekday, so a listed admission price does not guarantee every part of the lake is open on the chosen day.
Practical information for residents and travelers
Travelers should consult the current park page and fees schedule, confirm hours or closures and follow applicable water safety rules. People who qualify for veterans’ or disability-related exemptions should check the precise pass requirements before arriving.
